Paolo Montero: Juventus Head Coach for Final Two Matches
Former Player to Lead Team to Season's Conclusion
Juventus have appointed Paolo Montero to coach the team for the final two games of the 2023-24 Serie A season.
Montero, a former Juventus player, will take over from Massimiliano Allegri, who was sacked on Monday. Allegri had been under pressure following Juventus' defeat to Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia final last week.
Montero, 51, made over 200 appearances for Juventus during his playing career. He won the Serie A title three times and the Champions League once with the club.
Juventus are currently sixth in the Serie A table, four points behind fourth-placed Inter Milan. They have two games remaining, away to Bologna and at home to Lazio.
Montero's appointment is a short-term solution, with Juventus expected to appoint a new permanent coach in the summer.
