Architects Reimagine Party Walls as Bridges Between Neighbors
Innovative Design Connects Units, Fosters Community
WEB Dag von der Decken, an architect born in Munich, Germany, and recently completing a BArch Architecture RIBA Part I at the University of Dundee, has transformed the traditional party wall into a tool for connecting neighboring units.
Traditionally, party walls have served as physical barriers between properties, but von der Decken's innovative design allows them to become bridges that foster community. By incorporating shared spaces and light wells, the walls facilitate interaction and create a sense of interconnectedness among neighbors.
